Overview of the U.S. History Mind Map
The U.S. history mind map is divided into 6 periods, starting from 12,000 BC with North American Indian cultures flourishing to the millennium with the final end of cold war. It contains basic stages of pre-colonial, colonial America, a new nation, civil war, progressive era, World Wars, and the cold war.
The U.S. History Stage 1 – Pre-colonial
The pre-colonial period is before the year 1600. At that time, North American Indian cultures flourished which indicates the local American must be North American Indian. In around 1000, with the exploration of the American continent, more Europeans entered this land for a living. More and more European countries came to this continent aiming to establish a colony.
The U.S. History Stage 2 – Colonial America
This stage is the colonial time of America. At that time, Americans were oppressed by the European immigrants. The influential events consist of Glorious Revolution, Boston Massacre, American Revolution, and more. One of the largest events at least every American should remember is the Declaration of Independence on 4th, July 1774.
The U.S. History Stage 3 – A New Nation
The U.S. came into a new nation when the capital was moved from Philadelphia to Washinton in 1800. More and more lands are released with a large sum of fees. But this stage represents the beginning of White immigrants and Indian American conflicts, especially after President Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act.
The U.S. History Stage 4 – Civil War & Reconstruction
After the Gold crush, Americans faced both internal conflict and external invasions. Major events contain the Civil War, Lincoln’s assassination, Spanish-American War, and more as follow.
The U.S. History Stage 5 – Progressive Era & World Wars
In this stage, The U.S. declare wars on Europe and Japan participating in World War Ⅰ and World War Ⅱ. During two wars, American domestic stock market crash which caused the Great Depression in 1929. Till 1933, New Deal was put forward by Rosevelt Government for economic recovery.
The U.S. History Stage 6 – Mid-century & Cold War
Americans took part in many wars from 1950 to 1999. Major accidents of this stage cover many wars like Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War under the Cold War between Eastern Bloc and Western Bloc. After the collapse of Soviet Union, Cold War ended.
